In case you missed it, Virginia beat Syracuse in a 3OT thriller last week. The Cavaliers are now 2-4 (1-1 in the ACC) and travel this week to Chapel Hill to square off against the Tar Heels.
This will be the 120th installation of the "South's Oldest Rivalry", a tradition that desperately wishes both teams were nationally relevant. Believe it or not, next year, UVa-UNC will be the second oldest FBS rivalry (behind Wisconsin-Minnesota). These two teams first faced off in 1892 in Charlottesville (a contest that UVa won 30-18). UVa and UNC have played annually since 1919 and UNC has dominated of recently, beating Virginia every year since 2009.
UNC currently sits at 5-1 and is coming off of a 50-14 drumming of Wake Forest last week. The 'Hoos will hope to continue the momentum gained from their win into Chapel Hill and come away with an upset.
Will Virginia get a W? How many times will Steve Fairchild call a screen?
Let's break it down in THE COLUMN.
