Justin Anderson may be off to the NBA, but another 6'5 wing from Montrose Christian will be at Virginia basketball practices this fall.
Walk-on Justice Bartley, son of Montrose head coach Brian Bartley, joined the Hoos after playing his last two years of high school ball for Montrose. Before moving to Rockville, he played at Buford High School in Georgia. Bartley was the most lightly recruited of his teammates, four of whom are playing Division I basketball this year.
There isn't a ton else to say about Bartley's basketball background. His godfather is Kenny Anderson, former Georgia Tech superstar and the #2 overall pick in the 1991 NBA Draft. As the videos below show, Bartley has pretty good length and should provide some athleticism for the guards to go against in practice and drills. He seems to have the academic chops to succeed at U.Va. as a student, and as a coach's son is the type of player that Bennett likes to have around his program.
This clip is from his junior year at Montrose.
And this one is from his sophomore season while he was still playing for Buford.
But just so he doesn't get too cocky, here he is getting owned by a 43-year-old man (former NBA All-Star Antonio Davis).
