THE COLUMN: Virginia vs. Virginia Tech Complete Preview

Virginia and Virginia Tech face off for the 97th time.

If you had to choose the main story of the 97th installation of the Virginia-Virginia Tech rivalry, what would it be?  Frank Beamer's last game as Tech's coach?  The imminent firing of Mike London and, thus, this being the last game for him as UVa's coach?

This game has no shortage of talking points.  The Cavaliers currently sit at 4-7, going 2-2 in their last four, and certainly play tough for Coach London.  They will not only have the opportunity to send him out on a high note, but also spoil Frank Beamer's last game.  On top of that, VT is 5-6 on the season so a loss would make them bowl ineligible.

Virginia has not beaten VT in over ten years and oh how sweet would it be to beat them this Saturday.  For the last time this season, let's break it down in THE COLUMN.

Special thanks to the STL writers who contributed to The Column this season: Paul Wiley, Danny Neckel, and Matt Ellis.
