Virginia Football Recruiting: R.J. Proctor signs with Virginia

Proctor will be a fan favorite one day… book it!

Profile: R.J. Proctor

High School: Liberty Bealeton. (Bealeton Va.)

Height/weight: 6-4, 295

Ranking: Rivals 2*, ESPN 3*, 247 3*

Additional offers: JMU, ODU

The skinny:

You can’t spell underrated without "R.J. Proctor." Actually, you can, but you cannot underestimate this kid. Proctor became the third member of the class of 2015 to fax in his letter of intent, and became the first Virginian to do so. Proctor committed to the Orange and Blue back in June, and his entire family is fired up about him being a Wahoo. (shout out to mama Proctor.)

Proctor doesn’t come in with the highest ranking, but we advise fans to take it with a grain of salt. The offensive line is nearly impossible to project at the next level, and Proctor possesses the intangibles that cannot be taught. If you would like further proof that rankings don’t mean a thing, Proctor dominated the Rivals camp last spring against higher ranked defensive lineman, including a key Virginia Tech signee.

This past fall, Proctor led a rugged Liberty offensive front, that helped the Eagles average over 40 points per contest.

While Proctor already has the size to compete, he is still young for his grade. Expect Proctor to redshirt this fall to further develop his game.
