The Virginia Cavaliers' thrilling win over USC was also a nice feather in the cap of the ACC, as the Hoos took out three west coast teams in the process. They'll await the winner of Maryland vs. UCLA in the Super Regionals next weekend. Of the six non-UVA teams in the NCAA Tourney, two have been eliminated, one has advanced, and the other three will have their fates determined today. Here's a look at Sunday's action:
Louisville 13, Michigan 4 - Louisville advances
Louisville Regional
The Cardinals beat Michigan for the second time in the Louisville regional, though this one was easier than the first meeting. Louisville jumped to a 5-1 lead after 4 innings, and blew it open with 3 in the 6th and 5 in the 7th.
They'll move on to host a Super Regional next weekend, as a successful first year in the ACC continues.
Florida State (2-0) - Rained out
Tallahassee Regional
Florida State will play the College of Charleston at 2 PM after their game was rained out yesterday - the second game, if necessary, will follow. With a win, they'll move on to Gainesville for a big Super Regional matchup with the Gators.
Columbia 3, Miami 0
Coral Gables Regional
The Lions used two freshman pitchers to shutout Miami 3-0 and force a winner-take-all elimination game. First pitch in Coral Gables is at 7PM - the winner will take on Dallas Baptist or VCU, with the Hurricanes in line to host the next round if they get by Columbia.
TCU 8, NC State 2.
Forth Worth Regional
After a wild win over TCU to go 2-0 in the Fort Worth regional, N.C. State couldn't close things out, falling 8-2 as Tyler Alexander pitched a complete game for the Horned Frogs. The two teams will play a rubber match at 8pm.
Clemson - Eliminated
Fullerton Regional
Clemson became the first team eliminated from the Fullerton Regional on Saturday after losing to Pepperdine to go 2 and out.
Notre Dame - Eliminated
Champaign Regional
Notre Dame was eliminated Saturday as well, as they were shut out by Illinois 3-0.
