Latest Point Spread: Miami is favored to win by 11 points
Virginia goes into Senior Day on a down note, having dropped four straight games to all but guarantee that this football season will end in the last weekend in November for the Hoos. Particularly frustrating is that the previous two games have been there for the taking, but Virginia was simply unable to take advantage of the opportunities presented.
Enter the Miami Hurricanes, a team that has been trying to return to the upper echelon of the sport for the better part of a decade now. The Canes are very much in the hunt for a bowl bid at 5-4 and...not much else. Last week Miami snapped a four-game losing streak against the Pitt Panthers in relatively easy fashion. Beyond that victory, their only other ACC win was a two touchdown margin success at Georgia Tech. Much like Bronco Mendenhall, Mark Richt has work to do.
Take the fact that this Miami team is not a juggernaut, it is Senior Day, and that there is some weird ju-ju that tends to manifest when the Canes step onto the field in Scott Stadium, and you’ve got a reason to watch thee Hoos in action. Besides, the basketball team doesn’t play again until Tuesday.
Your gamethread awaits, good sir.
