A red-hot shooting night paced the Hoos to a 15-point halftime lead. Perrantes scored 8 of his 9 points in the first half, while freshman sensation Kyle Guy was 2-of-3 from the floor to add 7 points in the first frame.
Louisville showed their top-ten caliber in the second half, outscoring UVA 32-25 and stifling the Cavaliers’ earlier offensive momentum. Perrantes did not make a field goal in the second half, and Deng Adel and Anas Mahmoud did almost enough to bring Louisville back into it.
Virginia moves to 11-1 on the year and 1-0 in ACC play. The Cavaliers’ next game is 2 PM Saturday, a home tilt against Florida State.
