In a back and forth game, the #7 Virginia Cavaliers lost a heart breaker to the Duke Blue Devils on a game winner by Grayson Allen 63-62. UVA has now lost 17 straight times in Cameron Indoor Stadium, dating back to 1995. Malcolm Brogdon led the Cavaliers with 18 points while Duke Freshman Brandon Ingram paced the Blue Devils with 25.

UVA quickly trailed to start the game 11-6, but then went on a 19-3 run to take a 25-14 lead on the Blue Devils with 6 minutes left in the half. Mike Tobey was key to the surge by making his first 4 shots and leading all scorers at one point with 8. However, Ingram countered with 8 points in the last two minutes of the half to bring the Hoos lead down to just 3 at the half 34-31.
After the tough loss, the Cavaliers fall to 20-5 on the year and 9-4 in the ACC. Duke's record improves to 19-6 and 8-4 in the conference.
UVA returns home on Monday to face the North Carolina State Wolfpack.
