UVa hosted their second Gameday in as many years on Saturday and the Cavalier faithful showed up yet again to impress everyone involved.
Earlier in the week, Gameday host Rece Davis issued a challenge to UVa fans to make the Gameday atmosphere just as great and loud as it was last year when Gameday was in Charlottesville for the Duke Game.
UVa fans showed up in packs to make the Gameday experience thunderous yet again. They even had some of the best signs we've seen (we may be a little biased though).
Well, regardless of the outcome of tonight's game with UNC, the UVa fanbase impressed Rece Davis and the Gameday crew yet again. Following the broadcast, Rece Davis had some nice words for UVa and even threw some shade at a fanbase that likes to think of themselves as the greatest things ever.
Rece Davis says #UVa's crowd better than Kentucky's at Rupp Arena: "As great as that crowd was, you can’t beat what we’ve experienced here."

Davis: “Generally, I don’t like to rank crowds...but this was over the top. The last two years it’s just been above and beyond." #UVa

More from Rece Davis: “I’m so old now I don’t care if people get mad. If they get mad, be better than Virginia next time, you know?” #UVa

In the grand scheme of things, what does it mean? Not much other than it is clear UVa has the best basketball fanbase in the country.
