Virginia Football Recruiting: Bryce Hall signs with UVa

Where will this intriguing lineup at the college level?

Name: Bryce Hall

High School: Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg PA)

Height/Weight: 6-3, 195 pounds

Ranking: Rivals 2*, 247 2*, ESPN 3*

The Skinny:

Bryce Hall is another wide receiver/cornerback recruit to sign with UVa. Like fellow Virginia signee Nick Grant, Hall is capable wideout, but will likely at least start his college journey on the defensive side of the ball. The Keystone native hauled in nearly 1,000 yards on offense as a junior, and reached over 1100 yards the following season. Hall earned All-State recognition as a receiver in 2015, but his physicality makes Hall an ideal fit in the defensive backfield.

As seen on the film above, Hall can turn on the jets. Hall has a great initial burst following the snap, and enough acceleration to give him the edge needed on opposing wideouts or corners. As a receiver, Hall really shined with yards after the catch, and had the ability to turn a short pass into a big gain. The film is mostly Hall playing offense, but his understanding of opposing position, combined with his top speed will help ease the transition to the secondary.

Hall still needs to add a good amount of size before he is ready for action at the next level. A redshirt year will allow Hall to bulk up and fully concentrate on playing one position for the first time in his football career.
