Virginia Football Recruiting: Robert Snyder signs with UVa

The Georgia linebacker will look to make an impact in Bronco Mendenhall's defense

Name: Robert Snyder

High School: Collins Hill (Suwanee GA)

Height/Weight: 6-3, 215 pounds

Ranking: Rivals 3*, 247 3*, ESPN 3*

Additional Offers: Iowa, NC State, Old Dominion

The Skinny:

No! Not Rob Schneider… Rob Snyder!

Snyder is another tight end/line backer prospect to wind up on the defensive side of the ball. While in high school, Snyder played both standing up and with his hand on the ground on defense, but his current frame is best suited for an outside linebacker.

As seen on the film above, Snyder is steady presence in the linebacker corps, who does a nice job of keeping everything in front of him. Snyder had good football instincts and makes good reads before he strikes. The Georgia native is a productive tackler, and uses his hands well to wrap up opposing ball carriers. Snyder is hardly a burner, but his football IQ and ability to read plays will be a tremendous asset in Mendenhall's defense.

Snyder is a bit undersized at 215 pounds. Expect Snyder to redshirt in 2016 before seeing the field at the college level.
