UVA crushes Pittsburgh 64-50 with a dominant second half

Malcolm Brogdon led UVA to a 64-50 win over Pittsburgh with 21 points.

The Virginia Cavaliers used a strong second half performance to defeat the Pittsburgh Panthers 64 to 50 in the Petersen Events Center. It is UVA's sixth straight win and third straight on the road. Malcolm Brogdon led the Cavaliers with 21 points with London Perrantes contributing 14 as well. The Hoos shot a blistering 9/16 (56.2%) from 3 point range.

In the first half, Virginia jumped to an 8 point lead 29-21 due to hot 3 point shooting and 14 points from Malcolm Brogdon.  However, the Cavaliers cooled off as the Panthers went on a 6-0 run to finish the half with a score of 29-27. After Pittsburgh tied the game at 31, the Hoos went on a 12-0 run 5 minutes into the 2nd half that they never relinquished. Virginia is now 19-4 on the year and 8-3 in the ACC.

UVA returns to Charlottesville on Tuesday to take on Virginia Tech.
