2016 ACC Basketball Tournament: Virginia leads Georgia Tech, 30-28, at the half

Brogdon leads shaky UVa offensive effort

Virginia's superstar Malcolm Brogdon put up almost half of the Hoos' first half points, and the #2 seeded Cavaliers hold a slim halftime lead over an upset minded Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets squad.

Brogdon—the 2016 ACC Player of the Year—scored 14 points to leads the Hoos in scoring. London Perrantes is yet to score, and Anthony Gill has chipped in six points. Devon Hall leads Virginia with four rebounds and hit one three-point basket as well.

Tadric Jackson leads Tech with six points, while Adam Smith has added five as well. Marcus Georges-Hunt has three points but has largely been controlled by Brogdon's defense.

The teams shot an identical 48 percent from the field, with Virginia hitting three three-point buckets to Tech's two. Each team has had a two-possession lead: Georgia Tech by five points, Virginia by six.

Marial Shayok picked up two fouls in only one minute of playing time, while Smith is the only Yellow Jacket with more than one foul.
