Behind ten points from Malcolm Brogdon, the Virginia Cavaliers hold a five point advantage over third-seeded Miami, 36 to 31. Mike Tobey has six points for Virginia, while London Perrantes has five. Tobey is also Virginia's leading rebounder, with four.

Miami's scoring has been led by Ja'Quan Newton with eleven. Sheldon McClellan has managed to add six points while primarily being defended by Brogdon. Tonye Jekiri has only two points but is the Hurricanes' leading rebounder with four.

Neither team has been the defensive stalwart we expected thus far. Virginia is scoring 1.24 points per possession but allowing Miami to notch 1.07 at their end.

Virginia has led for the entirety, starting with Brogdon's three point bucket only 48 seconds into the game. The Hoos' largest lead was eleven, but Miami went on a 6-0 run to close the first half and close the gap.

Evan Nolte and Isaiah Wilkins each have two fouls for Virginia, while Angel Rodriguez is the only Cane with more than one.
