Virginia football kicks off spring practice on Tuesday, and the Cavaliers' spring roster is now available. Props go to the Charlottesville Newsplex's Damon Dillon for taking a photo of the roster and posting it to his Twitter page.

As we mentioned last month, Virginia finished its 2016 recruiting cycle with a surplus of players for the 2016 season. Virginia had 89 players at our last count, which was four over the NCAA maximum of 85. To get under the maximum, it appears that UVA has parted ways with wide receivers Jamal Brown and Kyle Dockins, offensive lineman Ryan Doull, and defensive back Divante Walker. All four players redshirted during the 2012 season and would have been fifth-year seniors in 2015.
Doull's departure might have been injury-related. The Ontario native started Virginia's first six games at guard in 2014 before missing five of the final six games with an injury. Doull then missed all of 2015 with an upper extremity injury. Given Virginia's lack of depth on the offensive line, his loss stings.
Dockins had 31 catches in three seasons in Charlottesville and played in 8 games in 2015. Brown played in one game total in three seasons. Walker, like Doull, battled injuries throughout his career, missing the last 8 games of the 2015 season after getting hurt during the Boise State game.
Most intriguing, incoming freshman placekicker Holland Corbett is also absent from Virginia's spring roster. Corbett enrolled at UVA in January, so his absence is a bit puzzling.
Update - 10PM, March 22: Virginia Media Relations provided some further clarity on the players mentioned above. Kyle Dockins and Divante Walker will graduate this spring and chose not to return for a fifth year. They are eligible to play one more season at another institution if they choose to transfer. Jamal Brown graduated in January. Ryan Doull's departure is indeed medical-related. And Holland Corbett is "no longer a member of the team."
Below is a look at Virginia's current roster heading into spring practice. Stay tuned to Streaking The Lawn for more coverage as the spring unfolds.
