2016 NCAA Basketball Postseason Awards: Virginia's Malcolm Brogdon named NABC First-Team All-American

Moves one step closer to consensus All-American selection

Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

Some of that joy that Tony said would come in the morning has come for Malcolm Brogdon. Virginia's senior guard was named a first-team All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

The NABC is one of four All-American teams considered by the NCAA for consensus All-American status. Brogdon has already been named to the first team by two of the others, Sporting News and the U.S. Basketball Writers' Association. The fourth and final selector is the Associated Press. The AP team was announced last year on March 30th.

Joining Brogdon on the first team are Buddy Hield of Oklahoma, Denzel Valentine of Michigan State, Ben Simmons of LSU, and Brice Johnson of North Carolina.
