Virginia's 2017 football recruiting class landed its third commitment Friday afternoon as three-star center and Mill Creek, Georgia native, Tyler Fannin committed to the Hoos.

Fannin landed an offer from Virginia back in March, and he chose Cavaliers over numerous offers from other FBS programs including Illinois, Kansas State, East Carolina, and Cincinnati.

Listed at 6'3" and 290 pounds, Fannin already has comparable size to UVa's projected starting center Jackson Matteo. The Hoos have three centers listed on their roster currently with Matteo, a senior, joined by sophomore RJ Proctor and junior Eric Tetlow. It's yet to be seen what approach offensive line coach Garrett Tujague will take when it comes to playing underclassmen and rotating linemen, but given the relative lack of depth at the position Fannin should have a chance to compete for playing time as soon as he steps on Grounds.
