We'd known for a while that Virginia would travel to Philadelphia in the 2016-17 season. Once Villanova cut down the nets in Houston, we knew the Hoos would be facing the defending national champions.
Today we learned one more piece of the puzzle: Exactly which day that will be.
Villanova will host Virginia on 1/29/17, source told @CBSSports. Return game of home-and-home series. Great mid-season test for both teams.

Usually ACC play kicks off right around the first of the year, so this could be a conference intermezzo for Tony Bennett & Co.
