McCarthy will be playing in his second consecutive U.S. Open after finishing in a tie for 42nd last year. Fellow Virginia alumnus Steve Marino also qualified for the 2015 tournament, which was held at Chambers Bay just outside of Seattle. McCarthy made it into this year's tournament by advancing through regional and sectional qualifying. He secured his spot in a playoff at the sectional qualifier at Maryland's Woodmont Country Club.
This will be the second straight major tournament for Bard, who earned his way into the field by finishing second in the 2015 U.S. Amateur championship. Bard competed at this year's Masters Tournament in April and finished in 69th place. He will tee off from the 10th tee at 1:14 p.m. EST.
