NBA Draft 2016: Malcolm Brogdon drafted by Milwaukee Bucks

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Second Round-Butler vs Virginia Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The Milwaukee Bucks selected Malcolm Brogdon with the 36th overall pick in the NBA Draft on Thursday night.

Brogdon was expected to go in this part of the draft, with most mock drafts placing the 6-foot-6 shooting guard in the 30s or high 40s.

Brogdon, a two-time All-American, is now the fourth Wahoo to be an active NBA player. The others are Atlanta’s Mike Scott, Dallas’ Justin Anderson, and Joe Harris, who has been a free agent since January.

Brogdon finished his UVa career as the school’s all-time ninth-leading scorer (1,809 points) and best free throw shooter (87.6 percent). He also garnered ACC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2016.

In short, the Bucks are getting an excellent shooter; consummate leader; and a quick, experienced defender.

Our congratulations and best wishes to Malcolm as he begins his professional career!
