Former Virginia Basketball center Mike Tobey will get his shot with a couple NBA teams this summer in the NBA Summer League -- once in Orlando and one in Las Vegas.
There are three NBA Summer Leagues, each set up with tournament-style schedules. The Orlando Magic will host the first league from July 2-8. At the same time, July 4-7, the Utah Jazz will have their summer league featuring the Celtics, 76ers, and Spurs, in addition to the Jazz. Finally, the Samsung NBA Summer League 2016, the big one, will be in Las Vegas from July 8-18, featuring 67 games in 11 days.
Tobey will be playing with Charlotte Hornets during the Orlando league, and he’ll be with the Jazz during the Las Vegas league.
The Virginia Basketball Twitter account announced this on Monday afternoon along with this Mike Tobey sizzle reel that leads me to believe that Tobey was the single greatest center in all of college basketball.
