Former Virginia Basketball forward Akil Mitchell, a member of the 2014 team that won both the ACC regular season and tournament titles en route to a top seed in the NCAA Tournament, will get a third shot at the NBA this summer with the New York Knicks on the Orlando Summer League, the team announced late Monday night.

This will be the third straight year that Mitchell will be playing for an NBA Summer League team after playing for the Houston Rockets in the 2014 NBA Summer League and the Brooklyn Nets in the 2015 NBA Summer League. He spent some time in 2014 in the NBA Developmental League, and played this past season playing in France.
Earlier this month, he was picked for the Panamanian Basketball Team in Centrobasket, where he helped Panama go undefeated, 4-0, in their group, contributing 11 points and four rebounds in their latest victory over Cuba.
Mitchell will be joined on the Knicks by fellow former ACC standouts Devin Booker (Clemson), Marshall Plumlee (Duke), and J.P. Tokoto (North Carolina). You can view the full roster here.
The Orlando League will be held July 2-8. This marks the first time the Knicks will be participating in Orlando after having played in Las Vegas since 2005.
