Watch Malcom Brogdon’s NBA Draft experience in 30 seconds

NBA: Milwaukee Bucks-Press Conference Sam Caravana-USA TODAY Sports

Last week, Malcolm Brogdon became the third Virginia Men’s Basketball player to be drafted in as many years, and fourth in the past five years, selected by the Milwaukee Bucks as the sixth pick in the second round, 36th overall. It must have been a heck of a ride for Brogdon, whose 24 hours following the NBA Draft included photo shoots and media interviews.

Virginia Basketball tweeted this 30-second video that highlights this experience.

“I’m excited,” Brogdon said in his press conference. “I’m excited for whatever role Coach [Jason] Kidd and Mr. [John] Hammond [General Manager for the Bucks] had in mind for me. I’ll have to listen.”

In an interview with Fox Sports, Kidd focused on Brogdon’s defensive prowess.

“You talk about defense, we need to get better there. We weren’t very good last year. Looking at Malcolm and his toughness, his leadership qualities. He’s 23 and we joke about him being a veteran on the ball club, but it is true. He’ll be able to help us in that department. He’s a guy who doesn’t turn the ball over. He’s solid.”

“I’m going to learn from the older guys,” Brogdon said. “I know that hard work is on this team, so I hope I just join in on the culture.”

“He knows who he is,” Kidd added. “And at 23, that says a lot for his family but also for him as a basketball player.”
