The Charlotte Hornets announced this afternoon that they’ve signed UVa alumnus Mike Tobey, after the former Cavalier center had a strong Summer League stint with the team.

Tobey is the all-time leader at UVa with 138 games played. He joins Joe Harris (Brooklyn), Mike Scott (Atlanta), Justin Anderson (Dallas), and Malcolm Brogdon (Milwaukee) the latest Hoo to join the NBA during the tenure of Coach Tony Bennett. Bennett was the point guard for the old Hornets franchise, now located in New Orleans, from 1992-95.
Terms of the contract were not immediately available.
