After Virginia, McGee transferred to Florida for a master’s in sports management, where he spent two seasons on the team. McGee’s 2014 season ended early when he broke his left tibia and fibula in Florida’s season opener against Eastern Michigan, a 65-0 rout by the Gators.
He returned to the team in 2015, where his career at Florida ended the same way it started: with an injury. McGee missed out on No. 17 Florida’s Citrus Bowl game against No. 14 Michigan, a 41-7 loss for the Gators, due to a leg injury sustained prior.
McGee had signed with the Carolina Panthers in May as an undrafted free agent, but was waived shortly after.
