Watch Bronco Mendenhall announce Kurt Benkert as starting Virginia quarterback

“We’ve had a successful camp.”

This, unsurprisingly, is how Virginia head coach Bronco Mendenhall opened his press conference with the Virginia Football media on Wednesday morning. Also unsurprisingly, junior transfer Kurt Benkert was named the starting quarterback for the Virginia Cavaliers this upcoming season.

In looking at which quarterback was the best for the job, Mendenhall asked himself, “Do they move the team into the endzone, because points determine outcome.”
