Thursday night, Virginia Sports TV published a video that was promoted as a reveal of the Hoos’ new football uniforms. The video was taken down shortly thereafter, but not before several people, including Daily Progress beat reporter Andrew Ramspacher, tweeted it out.
Taking a better look at this. Looks a little like the Quayle era throwbacks? #UVa pic.twitter.com/cGDv1m8dnz

In that screenshot, the jerseys bear a resemblance to those from the late 1960s throwbacks that the team has worn in recent years. Three stripes (an orange one surrounded by two white ones) run down the center of the helmet, with perhaps a number on one side and the V-sabre logo on the other.
Another fan posted what appear to be screenshots from the video, which shows an orange jersey, white helmet, and orange helmet.

UVa equipment manager Matthew Althoff had said on Thursday to “stay tuned” for new uniforms on Friday.

Looks like someone within the department jumped the gun on this one, although not before the Twitterati got a sneak peak. As always, stay tuned to Streaking the Lawn for updates.
