Get ready for a new Virginia Football entrance that builds on tradition while adding an element of unity and purpose to represent the program’s direction and philosophical approach.

In the video below, Bronco Mendenhall explains that unit leaders will take the field linked up, symbolic of the players moving together as a single unit, before charging the field with their task units behind them.

“We’re not going to go into it easy. We’re going to charge into it, and we feel lucky to have the opportunity,” Mendenhall said in the video.

But wait, there’s more.

Mendenhall is bringing back the diamond end zones — the same diamond end zones in the picture across his office in the McCue Center that shows a completely packed stadium, with Virginia beating Florida State.

“This is UVA football. No matter who comes into the stadium, they’re really not welcome.”

“It will take all of us — our team, our coaches, and the community -- to return it to that.”
