The Virginia Cavaliers’ opening weekend didn’t exactly go as planned, but the season must go on. Kurt Benkert and company travel to Eugene, Oregon in search of the first win of the Bronco Mendenhall era. At the very least, they are looking to demonstrate signs of improvement.

This week’s coverage includes an “STL Exclusive” as we followed certain of our players along the Oregon Trail. It did not end well.
Seriously though, our coverage as always is highlighted by The Big Preview and of course The Column. Did you know that Bronco Mendenhall helped turn around Oregon Football? First he beat them, then he helped set them up for success.
Trash Talkin’ TJ had some choice words for the Oregon game!
We also reached out to fellow SB Nation site Addicted to Quack to scout Oregon for us. It’s pretty much as expected, with lots of words like “up-tempo” and “offense” and “Marcus Mariota.”
Even if we’re not expecting a win, we’re at least looking for something to hang our season hopes on, right? Your STL Staff had a roundtable to discuss. Mendenhall seems to have the same idea -- he’s looking for “fundamental football improvement” from both players and coaches. Here are three things we’re specifically looking for From The Upper Deck.
Lastly, are you in Eugene? If so, there are lots of things you’re doing, thanks to the UVaClub of Oregon.
