In all, Benkert finished his day going 27-43 in the air, amassing a school-record 421 yards and passing for five touchdowns and just one interception.
Virginia picked up its first win of the Bronco Mendenhall era against previously undefeated Central Michigan, 49-35. This provides some much-needed momentum heading into next week’s matchup in Durham for Duke’s homecoming.
