THE COLUMN: Virginia at Duke Complete Preview

The Cavaliers seek their second win at Durham

Fall is in the air. Are winds of change coming for the Hoos? Last week, Kurt Benkert went wild for 421 yards and five touchdowns. In both the first half and the fourth quarter, at least, Virginia did whatever they wanted to do on offense; Bronco Mendenhall’s team look sharp and unified. Despite a large comeback effort from Central Michigan, the Hoos remained poised and got their first win of the season.

This week, the team travels to Durham to square off against the Blue Devils. After their win last week over Notre Dame, certainly no one is overlooking Duke. More importantly, this marks the beginning of ACC play for the Wahoos. This obviously means that bigger and badder teams are looming on the horizon. Taking care of the Blue Devils would be the first big step for Virginia to get ready for upcoming games.
