Now that we’re in the swing of ACC play, we’ll be seeing weekly injury reports on Thursday to give us a better sense of who we will, won’t, or might see on the field. We already know that Duke’s quarterback last year Thomas Sirk has been out all season, and that Duke All-American safety and kick returner DeVon Edwards has undergone a season-ending injury, but today’s injury report indicates that leading rusher RB Jela Duncan is out for Saturday’s contest against Virginia.

Here’s Duke’s injury report, in which Duncan is listed as having a leg injury:

Duncan has rushed for 314 yards over four games this season, averaging 5.6 yards per carry. His season high was for 50 yards the first week against NC Central, and he had a 32-yard carry last week at Notre Dame. He’s punched in four touchdowns so far.

Duncan had not practiced at all this week due to an ankle injury, the Herald Sun reports.

More bad news for the Blue Devils? Sophomore linebacker Tinashe Bere is joins Edwards and Sirk as out for the season due to an injury in last week’s contest at Notre Dame. Bere had 13 tackles (including seven solo) in Duke’s four games this season.
