THE COLUMN: Virginia at Oregon Complete Preview

The Cavaliers head to Oregon for the first time.

So, about last week.

Not exactly the start that Coach Bronco Mendenhall and his players wanted. Virginia got outworked by the FCS Richmond Spiders last week, and will travel a cool 2,800 miles to Eugene, Oregon as they try to forget about that loss and square off against the Ducks.

Ranked only 24th this week, Oregon is arguably used to being much higher in the polls. They aren’t used to seeing Virginia though, as this face-off marks the first time that the Hoos have travelled to play in Eugene. Perhaps you might remember (or choose not to remember) that the Ducks came to Scott Stadium in 2013. Hopefully, the Cavaliers can avoid such an outcome this time around.
