Virginia Football 2017 Schedule Released

The ACC released its 2017 football schedule today. Here’s a look at Virginia’s schedule

The ACC released its schedule for the 2017 football season. The Virginia Cavaliers are looking at seven home games and five away games for the upcoming season in what should be a very manageable schedule.

The Hoos open the season with four out of conference teams in September. Three of them will be played in Charlottesville -- William & Mary (5-6 record in 2016), Indiana (6-7 with 26-24 Foster Farms Bowl loss to Utah) and Connecticut (3-9, of course with a win over Virginia last year) — while one will be on the road on the other side of the country against Boise State (10-3 with 31-12 Motel 6 Cactus Bowl loss to Baylor)

Virginia has a bye week before kicking off conference play, just like 2016.

The Hoos will open up ACC play by playing host to Duke on October 7th. Following the Duke game, UVa will alternate home and away contests by traveling to UNC on 10/14, hosting BC on 10/21, traveling to Pitt on 10/28, welcoming Georgia Tech Haloween weekend (10/28), before traveling to both Louisville (11/1) and Miami (11/8).

Finally, the Hoos close the regular season with its annual rivalry game against Virginia Tech (10-4, 6-2 ACC). This year, the contest is on Black Friday instead of its traditional Saturday time slot. The two teams played on Friday in 2014, when the Hokies won, 24-20, in Blacksburg.

Of Virginia’s 12 opponents, nine of them made a bowl game last year, four of them as winners.
