Virginia Basketball jumped up three spots to No. 13 in the AP Poll this week following their decisive 80-60 win over Davidson. This is the highest the Hoos have been ranked in the AP Poll this season.
Villanova and Michigan State retained the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively, for the second straight week. Arizona State, one of four undefeated teams ranked this week ( ‘Nova, Miami, and TCU are the other three), moved to No. 3 after handily defeating Vanderbilt.
There were two ties this week as Baylor and Arizona both come in at No. 18, and Texas Tech and Tennessee are locked at No. 21. The Big 12 leads the way with six teams in the top 25, led by West Virginia at No. 10. The ACC has five squads represented, with a poll-leading three teams (No. 4 Duke, No. 5 UNC, and No. 6 Miami) in the top ten. Notre Dame fell from the rankings with a loss to Indiana, but received votes along with ACC teams Clemson, Louisville, Virginia Tech, and Syracuse.
