Much as we expected, the Virginia Cavaliers are starting to garner more attention as the season unfolds. The Hoos, unranked in the preseason (which ended a 63-week ranked run), are now up to No. 13 in the latest AP Poll with a 9-1 record. That lone loss came at the hands of now No. 10 West Virginia, on the road, by single digits.
Gary Parrish of CBS Sports has the Hoos up to No. 9 in his personal rankings, and the Athletic’s Seth Davis is believing in Virginia.

Today, former Virginia Tech head coach Seth Greensberg took to Twitter to get some thoughts out on the post-exam break time for basketball teams and...Virginia basketball!

After finishing the dog walk, Greenberg sat in his office full of rich mahogany and leather-bound books and elaborated on the “Cavs”.

(Side note: shoutout for the overall aesthetic of these videos. I’m loving the windbreaker, the out of frame shooting...all of it is top notch. Taking vids on basketball while dog walking is 100% something I’d do.)
Greenberg was effusive in his praise for Isaiah Wilkins as a do-it-all, stat sheet stuffing, underrated glue guy, and complimented the stingy Virginia defense. He also made note of Kyle Guy and Nigel Johnson and their offensive contributions, and said Mamadi Diakite could end up one of the best defensive players of the league. One name (un)surprisingly left off: the consistently underrated Devon Hall.
The Hoos face Savannah State tonight in what should be a fun, frenetic game. Tip-off is at 7pm and you can watch on ACC Network Extra.
