Obasi chose the Hoos over Big Ten schools Wisconsin and Penn State, and he held offers from ACC programs Duke and Wake Forest. He’s only 6-1, but he’s quick. In an interview with 247, Obasi said he based his decision on four factors: Location, academics, athletics, and relationships.
“Virginia met all four of my factors for a college decision perfectly,” he told Jamie Oakes in that same interview. Obasi also mentioned that WR coach Marques Hagans was a huge impact on his decision, as was Virginia’s emphasis on family - a message that never wavered during the recruiting process.
Ugo has the best Twitter handle (@ugogotswg) so far today.
