As the holiday season continues and the new year is on the horizon, our staff wanted to take a moment to say thank you for being a part of the Streaking the Lawn community. As we think back over this year, we realize just how much we as a Charlottesville and University community have gone through.
In the spirit of the holidays, Streaking the Lawn has donated its 2017 profits to:
The Heal Charlottesville Fund
which is run through the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation.
Together with the Concert for Charlottesville and the Unity Cville funds, the Heal Charlottesville Fund has devoted over $325,000 to support individual victims of the August 11 and August 12 events in Charlottesville, as well as to organizations who are providing trauma counseling and support. The organization will be continuing throughout the new year and beyond to provide direct support to the Charlottesville community.
This year, we donated 100% of all the money we raised from our Charlottesville shirts, plus 100% of our net profits, to the Heal Charlottesville Fund. Because of your support for this community, we’re able to give back to the Charlottesville community, and we couldn’t be more proud.
So with that, our staff wishes each and every one of you a very happy holiday season, and a healthy and happy new year in 2018. Don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere — for just the second time since the founding of this site, we’ve got a bowl game to cover!
