The Virginia Cavaliers will take the field at Navy Marine-Corps Memorial Stadium tomorrow as they face the Navy Midshipmen in the 2017 Military Bowl.
For the game, the Hoos will be sporting a new accessory on their helmets:

The sticker features both Virginia’s and Navy’s logos, as well as the phrase “189 WINS”, honoring the coaching legend for his career wins. Welsh compiled a 189-86-3 record as the head coach of Navy (1973-1981) and Virginia (1982-2000).
Coach Mendenhall and the Hoos unveiled the sticker at today’s Teams Luncheon, part of the Bowl Week festivities.

The connection between the two programs and Coach Welsh is deep, as our own Eric Hobeck looked into earlier this month.
Virginia vs. Navy kicks off at 1:30pm on ESPN.
