#HoosOnBoard17: Lindell Stone, QB

Lindell Stone

Name: Lindell Stone
Position: QB
Hometown: Dallas, TX (Woodberry Forest)
247 Composite: 3*, 85.59

Stone was the first splashy commitment for the new coaching staff when he announced his plans to come to UVA back in April 2016. He got his first offer from UCLA while he was in middle school down in Texas, with Wisconsin, Pitt, Ole Miss, and West Virginia all offering him once he transferred to Woodberry.

The easiest thing to say about Stone is that he’s a winner: Woodberry only lost 3 games in Stone’s two seasons as a starter. He was named the USA Today Player of the Year in Virginia for 2016. After that, it’s tough to peg exactly the right characterization for Stone. He looks small on film, but has about the same measurements as Sonny Abramson and Devante Cross. He’s accurate, but needs to develop arm strength. He can pull the ball down and run, but is much more effective as a passer than as a runner.

Welcome to UVA, Lindell!
