Name: Isaac Buell
Position: DE
Hometown: Knoxville, TN (Knoxville Central)
247 Composite: 3*, 82.19
Buell was a late commit to the Hoos, announcing just days before National Signing Day (although he’d been expected to pledge to Virginia for a while). Boise State, Harvard, and Yale all offered the lineman.
Nicknamed “The Viking,” Buell made a name for himself plundering opposing backfields. He’ll become a fan favorite with hair that just wildly out the bottom of his helmet and a penchant for big plays. Coaching is probably going to emphasize firing out of his stance a bit lower, as Buell can sometimes pop straight up and lose his advantage in pass-rush situations.
