Louisville’s Adel and Mathiang suspended for tonight’s game at UVa

The Cardinals’ bench will be even shorter than usual tonight in Charlottesville

NCAA Basketball: Louisville at Boston College Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

The Wahoos will have a potentially easier task tonight when they host the Louisville Cardinals:

Both Adel and Mathiang contribute heavily to the Louisville rotation, as they average 28.4 and 19.7 minutes per game respectively. Considering the absences of Quentin Snider (hip) and Tony Hicks (hand), the Cardinals will have to look to their already-depleted-due-to-injury roster to replace the combined 18.2 points and 10.5 rebounds per game from the two starters.

Both players played well in their last game against Boston College and Wahoo fans may remember Mathiang from his buzzer beating game winner over the Hoos in 2015. While Louisville is one of the hottest teams in the country currently and still has healthy talent to rely on, this can only be seen as good news for UVa fans. Only the most skeptical of fans, or those who support the Atlanta Falcons, should be concerned by the suspensions.
