After their harrowing win over UNC-Wilmington Thursday afternoon, the Virginia Cavaliers will get a couple extra hours’ rest for their second-round game against the Florida Gators.
UVA will take on Florida at 8:40 p.m. on Saturday in Orlando. The game will be broadcast on TNT, with Ian Eagle and Steve Lavin on the call.
The all-time series between the two team is tied 1-1. UVa beat Florida 62-56 in the NIT semifinals in 1992, and the Gators throttled the vastly undermanned Hoos in the first round of the Big Dance in 2012, 71-45.
The winner of Saturday’s game will play the winner of Villanova-Wisconsin on Friday night in the Sweet 16 at Madison Square Garden.
