Former Virginia basketball forward Austin Nichols laid to rest any speculation that he might come back to play for UVa in 2017-18, telling Scout.com that he will be declaring for the NBA Draft.
From the Scout article:
“First of all I just want to thank the University of Virginia and everything they’ve done for me,” Nichols said. “I left on sort of a bad note, but I learned a lot and I grew a lot at Virginia. I have decided to declare for the NBA Draft and I’m going to be signing with Aaron Turner.”
Turner is an agent with Versus Management Team.
Nichols scored 11 points in his only official appearance in a Virginia uniform, coming off the bench to lead the Hoos to a 40-point blowout of St. Francis on November 15.
Three days later, Nichols was dismissed from the team.
Best of luck to Austin in his draft prep.
