Perrantes led the Hoos in both points and assists this season, and carried the team into the second round of the NCAA Tournament. He leaves Virginia as the only player to win a game in four consecutive NCAA Tournaments, and finishes first among all Cavalier basketball players in career games, as well as fourth in career wins.
The District 2 first team were Duke’s Luke Kennard, North Carolina’s Justin Jackson, Wake Forest’s John Collins, Louisville’s Donovan Mitchell, and Florida State’s Dwayne Bacon.
Georgia Tech coach Josh Pastner won USBWA Coach of the Year after leading the Yellow Jackets to a surprising 20-15 record his first season in Atlanta.
