The UVa football program announced this morning on twitter that David Eldridge will be transferring from the team at the end of the spring semester.
Wide receiver David Eldridge has decided to leave the program and will transfer following the spring semester.

Eldridge’s departure is the third such announcement for the team this offseason, as linebackers Landan Word and Matt Terrell left the program in March. Eldridge started twice for the Hoos last season and finished the year with 177 yards receiving and two scores. He seemed to be in the running for a starting position this fall and was one of the more accomplished deep threats on the roster.
The junior from Bealeton, Va. was also one of the players named in last October’s lawsuit against the University and coaches for alleged hazing, but there is no implication that his departure is in any way related to the matter.
The returning wide receiver corps for the team this fall includes:
- Seniors: Doni Dowling, Andre Levrone
- Juniors: Olamide Zaccheaus, Ben Hogg, Rambert Tyree, Braedon Urie, Ross Gardner
- Sophomores: Hasise Dubois, Joe Reed, Cole Blackman, Warren Craft, Tanner Cowley
