Wait. Make that FOUR commitments in three days!

Mendenhall & Co. on SERIOUS streak this weekend

Student Sports

First it was two commitments in three days.

Then earlier this afternoon, Joe Bissinger made three.

Now it’s four. And Will Lawrence may be the best of the bunch.

Lawrence is a 6’4, 295 pound offensive lineman out of Tennessee, and the Harding Academy in Memphis. He’s rated 3 stars by 247, ESPN, and Rivals. But his offer sheet indicates a player whose rating may be on the way up: Lawrence picked Virginia over—wait for this—Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Clemson, LSU, Florida State, Oklahoma, and on and on.

A good amount of those offers are now doubt a result of Lawrence’s performance at the U.S. Army Combine in January. Up against some of the nation’s other top prospects, Lawrence had testing results right at the very top of all the offensive linemen, then backed that up with some EXTREMELY solid performances in drill work.

Like Bissinger, his destiny probably goes through the guard position. But his eye-popping athleticism should make a great fit with the up-tempo, playing-in-space offense that the Hoos are looking to run.

This is a BIG get, at the end of a very good weekend.
