Ty Jerome is “unstoppable”, new Hoos on Grounds

Is it basketball season yet?

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Second Round-Florida vs Virginia
Jerome looks like he’s ready for second year.

Well, Virginia’s 2016-2017 athletic season is done. Now comes the dark days of summer where we sustain ourselves on baseball and start to tell ourselves that, “maybe if we go 3-1 in non-conference, this is the year we make that bowl game”.

Fear not my Wahoo friends, we have some more basketball stuff to hold you over. We recently found out that Virginia would be (once again) hosting Wisconsin in the 2017 ACC/Big Ten Challenge, and showed you what red-shirt first year DeAndre Hunter has been up to.

Now it’s rising second year Ty Jerome’s turn. Jerome finished his first season with the Hoos shooting 47% from the field (40% from three) and averaged 4.3 points, 1.5 assists, and 1.6 rebounds per game. He played 34 games, starting four for the Hoos.

Check out a video of Ty’s summer work:

Hmmm. Looks good to me. It appears he focused on some dribble penetration - something Virginia so desperately needed at times during the season - as well as his solid jumper. Keep in mind that Jerome is 6’5”...much taller than we are used to at the point position. He will have HUGE shoes to fill as he inherits the team from London Perrantes (still not ready to accept that), but it appears he has spent a lot of time this summer putting in work.

In other news, the #NewHoos are apparently already on Grounds and ready to start working:

Is it November yet?
