The ACC announced this morning the 2017 Preseason All-ACC Football team. Surprising to no UVa fan after watching the two defensive stars, Quin Blanding and Micah Kiser, roll in preseason awards and watch list honors over the past few weeks, the two were named.

Linebacker Micah Kiser lead all ACC linebackers in voting with 89 votes. Miami’s Shaquille Quarterman was behind Kiser at 78 and Virginia Tech’s Tremaine Edmunds rolled in 60 votes as well. Kiser is coming off a 2016 that saw him make the All-ACC first team and lead the ACC with 11.2 tackles per game. His 134 tackles also lead all Power 5 players.

Though not the leading vote getter, Quin Blanding was also named to the team after receiving the second most votes for a Safety, behind FSU’s Derwin James. Blanding received 88 votes, while the next vote getter, VT’s Terrell Edmunds received just 19. Big things are expected of Blanding in 2017 after he was also named a First Team All-ACC player in 2016 and came in 2nd in the ACC with 10.0 tackles per game.

Also receiving votes for the Cavaliers were Doni Dowling - WR, Olamide Zaccheaus - WR, Andrew Brown - DE, Jordan Mack - LB, Tim Harris - CB, Bryce Hall - CB, Juan Thornhill - Safety, and Joe Reed - Specialist.
