Virginia Football target Ronnie Walker chooses Indiana

Hopewell, VA running back commits to IU over Michigan State, Virginia.

NCAA Football: Virginia at Georgia Tech Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Ronnie Walker, a four star running back out of Hopewell, VA, announced today that he will be attending Indiana University next fall. The 2018 player had narrowed his choices to Indiana, Michigan State, and Virginia.

While the addition of Walker could have indicated positive in-roads in the Virginia recruiting scene, his going elsewhere isn’t a complete disaster for the Hoos. The Cavaliers will return Jordan Ellis, Lamont Atkins, Olamide Zaccheaus, PK Kier, and Chris Sharp, along with the addition of Wayne Taulapapa (who is on his mission currently).

Walker is thought to be the biggest out-of-state addition for the Indiana football team in decades.

Virginia football opens their season on Saturday against William and Mary. Kick-off is at 3:30 and will be broadcast on ESPN3.
